Music in Worship for Instrumentalists
Facilitator: Paul McDowell
Are you the only musician in your church? Do you need encouragement, advice or practical help? Come and see what'savailable – and yes, you're welcome too if there are two, three or lots of musicians in your church. Bring an instrument, or use the ArtServe piano if you're a keyboard player.
Well Blessing and Well Dressing
Facilitator: Jude Simms
With examples from the Jewish and Christian scriptures, folk tales, and historical sources, we'll think about the tradition of giving thanks for the provision of water, and of blessing our sources of water, from ancient times to the present day. We'll then get hands-on and creative, using natural materials and 'found' items to create our own small 'well dressings' to take home. (NB: this session might get messy, so please dress appropriately, and/or bring an apron or an old t-shirt to protect your clothes!)
Wellsprings, our 2025 festival, will be a weekend of refreshment for your creative soul. It takes place Friday 17 to Sunday 19 October at Yarnfield Park Conference Centre in Staffordshire. Save the date.
These podcasts were recorded by ArtServe trustee Rachel Gallehawk at the 2024 ArtServe festival. They are hosted by Thurrock Community Business Radio.
The annual festival weekend is our main event of the year. Having used The Hayes and High Leigh conference centres for many years, in 2024 we visited Kents Hill Park, Milton Keynes for the first time, and our 2025 festival will be at Yarnfield Park Conference Centre in Staffordshire.
