Nick Young kicked the weekend off with an hour of hymn singing using the new Methodist hymn book Singing the Faith, including hymns by two authors present, Marjorie Dobson and Jan Berry.

Jonathan Evens of commission4mission discussed the role of music in cultural life from a Christian perspective. His co-author Peter Banks then spoke about their book The Secret Chord.

Artist Martin Lang spoke about the potential for art to tell of God’s power and divine judgement. Examples included John Martin's great triptych The Judgement.
