This hymn by Andrew Pratt was written during the ArtServe conference in October 2010.
We share within a mystery
where awe and wonder meet,
an interface with heaven;
yet Jesus at our feet.
He takes the towel and basin,
to wash, to make us clean,
to humble us and heal us
and in him God is seen.
A God who serves and loves us,
a God who lives and dies,
a God who, self abandoned,
exposes taunts and lies.
Who leads us from the darkness,
the safety of the night,
who graciously companions
the ones who fear the light.
And now with God beside us,
our servant, yet our friend,
we kneel in awe and wonder
in worship without end.
